Fatih Mehmet Maçoğlu is a Turkish politician born on December 20, 1968, in the Ovacık district of Tunceli. Running as a candidate for the Communist Party of Turkey, he was elected Mayor of Ovacık in the 2014 Turkish local elections, becoming Turkey's first TKP mayor. He began his professional life as a health officer and served in the Emergency Department of Tunceli State Hospital starting in 2007.

Born into an Alevi Zaza family in Tunceli, Maçoğlu completed his primary education at Ovacık YİBO and his secondary education at Bingöl Health Vocational High School. He began his career as a health officer in the Bozkır district of Konya in 1989 and worked in the Pertek district of Tunceli between 1992 and 2007.

For the 2014 local elections, he resigned from his position as a health officer to run for mayor of the Ovacık district as a candidate for the Communist Party of Turkey, winning the election and becoming Turkey's first TKP mayor. In the 2019 local elections, he was elected Mayor of Tunceli again as a TKP candidate.
