Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready to meet with US President Donald Trump in Moscow. In a statement to the Russian press, Peskov recalled that Putin had extended an invitation to Trump to visit Moscow during their summit in Alaska.
PUTIN'S OFFER REMAINS VALID
Stating that Putin's offer is still valid, Peskov said, "Putin is ready to meet with Trump and would be pleased to do so. However, everything depends on Trump's decision."
NUCLEAR ARSENAL ISSUE BROUGHT TO THE AGENDA
When asked about the validity of Russia's demand to include the nuclear arsenals of the UK and France in calculations, Peskov replied, "This issue is current."
Peskov emphasized that negotiations for the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (New START) between Russia and the US must be initiated. He further stated that the issue of nuclear arsenals should also be brought to the agenda in the coming period. Peskov said, "These arsenals are a component of the issue regarding European security and strategic stability."
