Will Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu form a new party? His deputy explains...

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who lost the chairmanship election at the 38th Ordinary Congress of the CHP to the 'change' candidate Özgür Özel, opened a private office for himself in Ankara following the congress.

Kılıçdaroğlu, who announced last February that he had not retired from politics, is the subject of curiosity regarding his future plans and the path he will follow.

Bülent Kuşoğlu, who served as deputy chairman during Kılıçdaroğlu's tenure as CHP leader, spoke to Hande Fırat of the Hürriyet newspaper, which is known for its proximity to the government.

Making statements regarding Kılıçdaroğlu's political moves in the new era, Kuşoğlu answered the questions, "Will Kılıçdaroğlu run for CHP chairman again? Will he form a new political party?"

Highlights from Kuşoğlu's statements are as follows:

"Kemal Bey worked for many years in the bureaucracy, in politics, and in the state. Even if he is not in active politics, he has a responsibility to engage in politics. He does not have to be the head of the CHP for this. Kemal Bey is a wise man. Whenever CHP Chairman Özgür Özel wants to meet, they meet. For a new party, there needs to be a void in politics and society. There is no such void. In other words, he will not form a political party. He has never worked against the CHP; the claim that Alevi votes did not go to the CHP is not true. Kemal Bey would only become a candidate if the current management is unsuccessful and there is a need for him. Kemal Bey is hurt by Ekrem İmamoğlu due to the developments that took place during the congress, but he would still not withhold his support. He is not hurt by Mansur Yavaş. Mansur Bey visited him after the election."

AKŞENER'S UNKNOWN WORDS

Touching upon the crisis experienced during the candidate determination process at the Table of Six, Kuşoğlu said, "At the Table of Six, the candidate was determined three months before the election; it was too late. While candidacy was the priority issue, months were spent working on other texts. I said our party's candidate is Kılıçdaroğlu, and this is very normal. Kemal Bey was already the natural candidate."

Kuşoğlu explained the unknown words of the then-İYİ Party Chair Meral Akşener as follows:

"Before Meral Hanım brought the names of the two metropolitan mayors to the table, during a visit at the beginning of the process, she had said, 'Having the names of the two metropolitan mayors in public opinion polls creates a problem.' In short, if the candidate had been determined earlier, there would have been no problems. The candidacy mechanism is a problem because there are no longer politicians who come from the provinces and stand out; ministers work like general secretaries, and the Grand National Assembly of Turkey is not a school. In the end, it seems that candidacy is left to the chairmen of the two major parties and the mayors of the three major cities."
