Will Kılıçdaroğlu run for office again? The person closest to Kılıçdaroğlu explains

Following the absolute nullity process within the CHP, all eyes have turned to the party congress calendar and the political future of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. Bülent Kuşoğlu, a former CHP Deputy Chairman known for his closeness to Kılıçdaroğlu, made notable assessments regarding both the congress process and potential candidacy debates.

Bülent Kuşoğlu, a former CHP Deputy Chairman who is expected to be among the names included in the new administration of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu—who was reinstated as CHP Chairman following a court ruling—made statements regarding the current agenda during a live broadcast on tv100.

Arguing that the division within the CHP is not based on ideology or the voter base, Kuşoğlu said, "This should not be happening on a day like this. This division in the CHP is not an ideological, thought-based, or voter-base-related division. We have divided emotionally. This needs to be resolved."

HE ADDRESSED THE "FETÖ AGENT" REMARKS

Kuşoğlu was also asked about the "FETÖ agent" remarks made by Kılıçdaroğlu during the holiday celebration program at the CHP Headquarters.

Stating that the speech was quite harsh, Kuşoğlu said, "As Kılıçdaroğlu himself said, his speech today was very harsh. I do not know who he meant by saying 'FETÖ agent' in his speech."

"WE CAN OVERCOME THIS DIVISION"

Stating that the process within the party stems from personal reasons, Kuşoğlu argued that what has happened can be overcome.

Kuşoğlu said, "This is a division caused only by personal reasons, and we can overcome it. Because nothing was done and no timely intervention was made while this issue was clearly on the agenda, we are now faced with the issue of absolute nullity," he said.

"WE ARE THE FOUNDING PARTY, WE NEED TO SIT DOWN AND TALK"

Stating that the debates within the CHP should be resolved through dialogue, Kuşoğlu pointed out that the individuals filing complaints are also CHP members.

Kuşoğlu said, "The ones filing complaints are CHP members. Whether you call the decision unlawful or legal, we need to sit down and talk. Why are we dividing? The world is being restructured. Germany, England, France, the USA... The Middle East is already burning. While the whole world takes our Atatürk Republic as an example, what are we doing? As the CHP, the founding party, we should be setting the direction for the state, but what are we doing?" he said.

MESSAGE REGARDING THE PROCESS IN THE PARLIAMENTARY GROUP

Responding to the question of who will speak at the party's group meeting to be held on Tuesday, Kuşoğlu said that a decision should be made after the party boards are formed.

Kuşoğlu said, "I hope there will be no problems. If we are talking about party discipline, the speech should be made in line with the views of the Chairman and in accordance with the decision to be taken after the party boards are formed. I think the Parliament's Rules of Procedure will come into play on this matter and the issue will be resolved to prevent duality," he said.

EMPHASIS ON DIALOGUE FOR THE CONGRESS CALENDAR

Making assessments regarding when the congress will be held, Kuşoğlu stated that the process will be shaped within the framework of law and dialogue.

Saying, "When the congress will be held can also be solved through dialogue and law," Kuşoğlu stated that the communication problems between Kılıçdaroğlu and Özgür Özel were not intentional and that the parties met later.

Stating that the Party Assembly memberships must be completed, Kuşoğlu said, "The memberships of some Party Assembly members have lapsed. They need to be completed from the substitutes. The process is expected to be completed after the holiday. The congress will be held whenever the legally appropriate time is," he said.

"MANSUR YAVAŞ COULD ALSO BE A CANDIDATE"

Touching upon the presidential candidacy debates, Kuşoğlu said he knows there is no problem between Mansur Yavaş and Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.

Kuşoğlu said, "When the party unites and the division is resolved, I don't think it will be a problem for Mr. Mansur to be on the other side. I also don't know of any problem between them. We will nominate the most ambitious person for the presidential candidacy. If conditions are suitable, it could be Mr. Mansur," he said.

"KEMAL BEY DOES NOT SHIRK DUTY BUT..."

Responding to the question of whether Kılıçdaroğlu will be a candidate for chairman again, Kuşoğlu made notable statements.

Kuşoğlu said, "In his speech today, he said, 'I am 78 years old, and I am here to fulfill my duties regarding my party.' Perhaps such a situation could arise if conditions require it, but as the CHP, we will determine and nominate the most suitable candidate. Kemal Bey does not shirk duty, but I do not think he will be a candidate again," he said.

"IT CANNOT BE SAID THAT KILIÇDAROĞLU HAS NO CONTRIBUTION"

Stating that the successes achieved by the CHP in the last elections should be evaluated, Kuşoğlu said that Kılıçdaroğlu's contribution should not be ignored.

Kuşoğlu said, "Can we say that Kılıçdaroğlu has no contribution to the political success in the last elections? We cannot. We achieved significant success in the 2019 elections as well. In the 2024 elections, Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu said at a rally that over 400 municipalities would be won, and as a matter of fact, that is what happened," he said.

"IT IS NOT RIGHT FOR US TO DIVIDE"

Touching upon the allegations that an expulsion list is being prepared within the party and a new party will be established, Kuşoğlu stated that the CHP is an institutional structure.

Kuşoğlu said, "It is too early to talk about these. I hope they do not attempt such a move. It is not right for us to divide when about 30 CHP mayors have switched to the AK Party today, and the state of Turkey and the world is obvious. It is essential that we come together," he said.
