The "Amendment to the Law on Foundations and Certain Laws" legislative proposal submitted to Parliament envisions transferring the management and oversight of over 100 cultural assets currently owned by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) to the central administration.
MANAGEMENT OF CULTURAL ASSETS BELONGING TO THE IMM WILL CHANGE
According to the legislative proposal, the management of real estate belonging to the IMM that is classified as cultural assets will be transferred to the central administration. If the proposal becomes law, the status of these properties as belonging to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality will end.

REACTION TO THE LEGISLATIVE PROPOSAL FROM CHP'S ZEYBEK
CHP member Gökan Zeybek made statements against the legislative proposal in question. Zeybek pointed out that transferring cultural assets in Istanbul to the central administration through this law would weaken the decision-making powers of local governments and expressed his reaction.
