The Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Imralı delegation submitted an application to the Ministry of Justice today for a third meeting with PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan.

In addition to DEM Party deputies Sırrı Süreyya Önder and Pervin Buldan, Ahmet Türk, the Mayor of Mardin Metropolitan Municipality who was replaced by a trustee, also applied for the new visit. The meeting is expected to take place within this week, and a comprehensive statement regarding Öcalan's messages is anticipated.

DEM Party Spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan stated that they expect the meeting to take place within a few days and that a comprehensive statement regarding Öcalan's call will be made to the public. Doğan said that the method by which the call will be made will also become clear after the meeting, but their wish is for it to be "via video".
"We have repeatedly stated that it would be better in many respects for it to be via video, and that the isolation maintained to this day should be lifted," said Doğan, continuing her words as follows:
"We have expressed that the social demand is also in this direction. In other words, although our expectation is for a statement to be made via video, the method by which it will be done will become clear after the meeting that the DEM Party Imralı Delegation will hold with Mr. Öcalan on Imralı island."
