THE ISSUE OF A NEW CONSTITUTION WAS BROUGHT TO THE AGENDA AT THE OPENING OF PARLIAMENT

President Erdoğan, who made statements at the opening of the 2nd Legislative Year of the 28th Term of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), had brought the issue of a new constitution to the agenda.

In his speech, Erdoğan stated, "It is our primary responsibility to rid Turkey of the current constitutional burden that the coup administration saddled our nation with 41 years ago on September 12," adding, "It is clear that this constitution, which has turned into a patchwork quilt with more than 20 major and minor amendments in its 41-year history, cannot carry the Turkey of 2023."
