Yavuzyılmaz alleges oil pipeline discrepancy: Fate of 229 million dollars in 2019 remains unclear

CHP Zonguldak MP Deniz Yavuzyılmaz has brought forward a new allegation regarding oil transportation conducted via the Iraq-Turkey Crude Oil Pipeline in 2019.

In a social media post, Yavuzyılmaz argued that the fate of a portion of the transport fees received from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) remains unclear.

According to Yavuzyılmaz's post, 494 million 186 thousand dollars in oil transport fees were received from the Kurdistan Regional Government in 2019. Stating that this amount was first transferred to the Turkish Energy Company (TEC) established on the Island of Jersey, Yavuzyılmaz alleged that subsequently, 264 million 909 thousand dollars were transferred to Turkey, to BOTAŞ.

Yavuzyılmaz stated that it has not been explained what happened to the remaining 229 million 276 thousand dollars, noting that this amount corresponds to approximately 11 billion Turkish Lira at the current exchange rate. Describing the situation as an "international robbery" in his post, Yavuzyılmaz argued that the money should be collected from those responsible.

The CHP politician cited the Kurdistan Regional Government's 2019 official Deloitte oil report, BOTAŞ's 2019 Court of Accounts report, and the Presidential State Audit Institution report as sources for his allegations. Yavuzyılmaz had previously stated that he had disclosed the portion of allegations regarding irregular oil transportation on the pipeline for the 2014-2018 period.
