YENİ Party Eskişehir Provincial Chair Talat Yalaz has filed a criminal complaint against AKP Eskişehir Provincial Chair Gürhan Albayrak and CHP Eskişehir Provincial Chair Volkan Enver Kılıç, following their statements regarding allegations that aid money intended for the earthquake zone was not sent.
Stating that he went to the Eskişehir Courthouse to submit an 11-page petition to the prosecutor's office, Yalaz argued that the two provincial chairs committed the crime of "publicly disseminating misleading information." Yalaz said that he also submitted information, documents, and evidence regarding his claims to the prosecutor's office in the petition.
Volkan Enver Kılıç, who was appointed as the CHP Eskişehir Provincial Chair, had previously alleged that Yalaz and his team did not send the aid money they were accused of collecting to the earthquake zone, stating, "A situation similar to Ahbap occurred in Eskişehir." Following Kılıç, AKP Provincial Chair Gürhan Albayrak also made similar statements.
"WE ARE FACING GROUNDLESS ALLEGATIONS AND SLANDER"
Yalaz stated that the allegations do not reflect the truth, saying, "We are facing groundless allegations, accusations, and slander such as organizing on the night of the earthquake, collecting donations on behalf of earthquake victims, not sending the donations collected on behalf of earthquake victims to them, and collecting money using methods similar to Ahbap."
Emphasizing that they did not collect money for earthquake victims, Yalaz said, "We have not collected a single penny from anyone under the name of donations for earthquake victims. No one can come forward and say, 'We gave money that night to be sent to earthquake victims.'"
Stating that they will not remain silent against the accusations directed at them, Yalaz argued that the issue is being kept on the agenda in a way that also offends earthquake victims. Yalaz said that for this reason, a necessity arose to file a criminal complaint.
Claiming that the AKP and CHP are acting together against him in Eskişehir, Yalaz alleged that the statements in question are aimed at discrediting the YENİ Party. Yalaz expressed that he welcomes political criticism but believes that a crime was committed during this process.
Yalaz also stated in his petition that he has given his consent for the examination of all his personal account transactions, not just for the period in question, but for his entire 35-year life. Stating that he believes the investigation process will begin, Yalaz noted that the allegations will be clarified before the judiciary.
