YENİ Party Gaziantep MP Melih Meriç, who was the victim of a knife attack in Gaziantep, made a statement on his social media account regarding his treatment process. Stating that his health is improving every day, Meriç thanked those who sent him get-well messages.
Meriç also shared the get-well note sent to him by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu. Expressing that the note gave him morale during his recovery process, Meriç also conveyed his thanks for Dilek İmamoğlu's hospital visit.
"This precious note that reached me from Silivri provided not only a great morale boost during my recovery process but also a strong sense of solidarity. My health is getting better every day; the interest shown and the kind wishes in this process add strength to my strength."
In his statement, Meriç expressed his desire to be back on duty as soon as possible, saying, "I am waiting with great longing to be at the service of our Gaziantep and all of you."

In Ekrem İmamoğlu's message, it was stated that he learned of the attack with sadness and condemned the attacker. İmamoğlu conveyed his get-well wishes to Meriç, his family, and his friends in Gaziantep.
"I learned with great sadness about the attack you were subjected to. I condemn the person who carried out the attack. I am praying for your health. I wish you a speedy recovery."
