Yenilik Party Chairman Öztürk Yılmaz spoke to 12punto.
Evaluating the current agenda, Yılmaz stated that they have not held any alliance talks as local elections approach, while also touching upon the tension between the IYI Party and the CHP.
Yılmaz responded to claims that the opposition is in a 'disorganized state' ahead of the local elections by saying, "This shows the success of Erdoğan's strategy."
"WE WOULD HAVE SIGNED THE DECLARATION"
Evaluating the debate in Parliament regarding the declaration following the death of 12 soldiers, Yılmaz answered the question of what course of action the Yenilik Party would have taken if it were in Parliament as follows:
"We are against both the caliphate supporters and the ethnic separatists, the terrorists. We would have certainly signed the declaration in the strongest possible way."
FUNERALS OF THE MARTYRS
Yılmaz continued his assessments:
Are the protests against CHP Chairman Özgür Özel at the funerals of the martyrs and the attacks on the wreaths of opposition leaders organized, or do they stem from the opposition's stance?
"There is organization, but they also have a stance already. Their communication with the DEM Party allows the AKP to exploit this situation."
"THEY ARE SERVING POLITICAL ISLAM"
How do you evaluate the remarks made in Parliament by the DEM Party regarding the leader of the terrorist organization PKK, Abdullah Öcalan, and the remarks by HÜDA PAR regarding the first 4 articles of the Constitution?
As the Yenilik Party, we firmly state that there are two major threats in Turkey. The first is the ethnic separatist terrorists and their representatives in parliament, and the second is the caliphate supporters and political Islamists. Political Islam is a threat to the regime. Within that, there is HÜDA-PAR, the AKP, and the New Welfare Party (Yeniden Refah Partisi). Communities and sects are all structures that serve political Islam. They are serving political Islam, not Islam. We are against this.
This is officially a structure that is hostile to the regime, a threat. While ethnic separatists want a federation and territory, the others want to change the regime. It is not a case of one being good and the other being bad. Both are bad. The Turkish nation must fight against them. Apart from the Yenilik Party, there is no other party that takes both threats into account and fights against them.
They are showing themselves with the DEM Party or HÜDA-PAR. They are trying to engage in fake nationalism and Atatürkism. These things do not work; the threat is clear. Both of these must be fought against.
THE CITIZEN'S PROBLEM IS THE ECONOMY
What are the issues that citizens complain about the most?
The most complained about issue is the economy. Economy, economy, economy! Because it affects the citizen's daily life. If they cannot buy clothes for their children, if they cannot pay their electricity bills, if they can no longer shop with their credit cards because the limit is full, the economy is what affects the citizen the most. We are also constantly in the squares. We are with the people. Even though we are not in Parliament, we are currently conducting the most active politics. Because what we say is genuine and realistic. We are not defending the truth to please anyone, but because it is the right thing to do. When you defend the truth, people come here."
