Yöneylem Research's latest election poll is out! How will the change in CHP reflect at the ballot box?

Approximately 6 months have passed since the May 14 and 28 elections. As the country heads toward local elections, public opinion research companies have accelerated their polling efforts.

Most recently, Yöneylem Research conducted an election poll in 27 provinces between November 6 and 8. In the study, which involved 2,400 people, participants were asked the question, “If there were a parliamentary election this Sunday, which party would you vote for?”

Connecting to Halk TV, Yöneylem Research Director Derya Kömürcü shared the poll results.

The results from the poll are as follows;

AKP: 32.9 percent

CHP: 24.3 percent

MHP: 10 percent

HEDEP: 9.3 percent

İYİ Party: 7.4 percent

New Welfare Party: 4.1 percent

Workers' Party of Turkey: 4 percent

Victory Party: 3 percent

Other: 5 percent

In her statement regarding the poll results, Kömürcü included the following remarks;

“WE WAITED FOR THE CHP CONGRESS TO PASS”

"We specifically waited for the CHP congress to pass for this research. We wanted to measure voter attitudes in the event of a change in the party leader. In this respect, it was an important study. It also showed us a change. In the research we conducted last month, 75 percent of voters described themselves as 'helpless, angry, and weary.' This rate was higher within the CHP. Today, the picture seems to have changed in this research."

We see that the congress brought about change. Last month, 12 percent said they would not vote, but now we see that this figure has decreased. There were two events in the past month. One is the CHP congress. CHP's score appears to have increased by 2 points. However, the AKP also rose; at this point, Israel's attacks on Gaza were influential. After the price hikes in July and August, there was a lot of reaction toward the AKP from within its own base. However, economic difficulties have somehow been internalized again. There is one more noteworthy situation. We had discussed that in such environments, non-mainstream, marginal parties like the Victory Party would rise due to voter reaction. This time, we see that parties like the Victory Party have also declined. This shows that voters are starting to take an interest in mainstream politics."

The CHP made a positive start after the congress. First of all, it motivated its own voters; there is a picture that satisfies them. It seems as though there was no division or resentment within the party."
