Youth branch reaction to banners in Aydın

The recent banner incidents in Aydın have come to the fore with the striking statements of CHP Aydın Provincial Youth Branch President Ufuk Gündoğdu. Gündoğdu stated that young people make their presence felt on the streets through their labor and sweat, declaring, "We will win."

Kuşadası Mayor Ömer Günel responded with documents to allegations of "zoning rent" in Kuşadası during a live broadcast he attended to defend Aydın Metropolitan Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu's transition to the AKP. Following this broadcast, protests were held in various districts of Aydın. Municipal buildings and streets were adorned with banners reading, "End the zoning rent of Özlem Çerçioğlu in Aydın."

In his statement regarding these developments, Ufuk Gündoğdu drew attention to the labor of young people and said the following:

"WE EXIST ON THE LINE OF OUR STRUGGLE"

"We do not exist in the shadow of the palace, but on the line of our struggle. We will certainly adorn every place their eyes see and every street they step on with banners. We will throw the truth in the faces of those who usurp the rights of the people every single day. My dear friends in the youth branches, there have been people who came to office with your votes and sat in their positions with your labor. Do not worry. There are those three or five young people who sold out our party and turned their backs on you for the sake of self-interest. We will remind them every day, too."

Stating that they will fight against the disregard for the labor of young people, Gündoğdu said, "We will win as young people who leave their mark on the streets with their sweat and labor, not those who walk in the marketing sector without any sweat."
