Yusuf Halaçoğlu founds the Kutlu Party: We will not engage with the opposition

Yusuf Halaçoğlu, who resigned from the İYİ Party due to disagreements with the party leadership following the elections on June 24, 2018, has submitted the application to the Ministry of Interior to establish a new party named 'Kutlu Party'.

Making a statement after the application, Halaçoğlu expressed that there is broad participation in his party. Halaçoğlu stated the following:

WE FOUNDED A PARTY AIMED DIRECTLY AT POWER

''This party was founded directly aimed at power. Apart from me, there are no former deputies who have not entered politics before. Our party has cast aside all concepts such as right, left, and center. We do not accept any of them.

We do not adopt any of the concepts imposed by the West, such as right-wing, left-wing, or center. Directly as patriots ourselves, just like Atatürk, you know there was no such understanding as right, left, or center when Atatürk entered the national struggle. He emerged directly as a patriot and set out to drive the enemy out of the country.

We say that with an understanding that will put Turkey on the right track, we welcome all patriots, regardless of their faith or lineage; if they truly love this homeland and are acting selflessly for this nation, they have a place of honor with us. We have not targeted any opposition party or the ruling party. We are calling out to the entire Turkish nation and have set out with the goal of directly coming to power. We have not leaned our backs on any place abroad in any way. I want to state that specifically.

You will not see us as a party that has leaned its back on any place domestically either. You will even see all our behaviors, everything, how much money comes from where, and where we spend it."

Stating that they do not find it right for parties to receive direct state support, Halaçoğlu noted that parties should enter elections with their own resources, otherwise injustice occurs.

THE INTERNAL AFFAIRS OF OTHER PARTIES DO NOT CONCERN US

Regarding the discussions that took place in the İYİ Party following Meral Akşener's meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, he said:

''Their internal affairs do not concern us at all. We are looking directly at our own party. I repeat, we will not engage with any opposition party. In other words, we are not emerging as a party that will oppose the opposition. While pointing out the mistakes of the government, if they are doing something right, we will say it is right. We have no problems. We will not get into a war of words with anyone, but if the government is doing something wrong, we are sincere enough to say, "You cannot do it this way, it would be wrong, the solution to this is as follows." If the government implements this issue that we have put forward and that is included in our program, if it is going to be beneficial for the country, then it is well-deserved. In other words, we never have a concern like they will implement this and steal it from us."
