Zafer Party reacts sharply to its candidate who withdrew in favor of the People's Alliance: "A betrayal of the Turkish nation and voters"

Zafer Party Polatlı Mayoral candidate Kerem Yürümez and Municipal Council member candidates Barış Baloğlu and Polat Çağlar announced that they have withdrawn their candidacies in favor of the People's Alliance.

Kerem Yürümez had also been a parliamentary candidate for the Zafer Party from Ankara's 3rd district in the elections held in May. A harsh press release came from the Zafer Party regarding this decision, which was announced shortly before the local elections.

Defining this decision by Yürümez as a betrayal against the Turkish nation and its voters, the Zafer Party issued the following statement containing striking remarks:

As the Zafer Party, the fact that the person we nominated for the Polatlı Mayoralty withdrew from the candidacy by saying "The People's Alliance candidate has already won," and attempting to portray the People's Alliance candidate as having won even before the elections have taken place, constitutes a great disrespect to democratic values and the seriousness of the election process.

This decision to separate, which does not align with the values of the Republic, democracy, and our party, shows that Kerem Yürümez has acted in a way devoid of morality. This decision is a betrayal of the Turkish nation and its voters.

This decision should be characterized as the product of a mentality that puts personal interests and political gains ahead of the will of the voters. The individual's decision to join the People's Alliance clearly shows how shallow their sense of loyalty is. Such political maneuvers reflect a political understanding that does not respect the will of the voter and only chases after positions.

As of this point, due to the decision that Kerem Yürümez made entirely in line with his personal interests, without our knowledge and without any involvement on our part, a situation has arisen where we are unable to enter the district mayoral elections in Polatlı.

As the Zafer Party Ankara Provincial Presidency;

We state that we will never lose our belief in democracy and our responsibility to our people, and we call on the public to show their reaction at the ballot box against political parties that set up traps with such political maneuvers.
