Zeydan Karalar to run for office again
An operation targeting "bribery" and "rigging of bids" was conducted at the Adana Metropolitan Municipality. Following the operation, Burhanettin Bulut, who arrived in front of the municipal building alongside Adana Metropolitan Mayor Zeydan Karalar, both expressed their reaction to the operation and announced that Zeydan Karalar is the CHP's mayoral candidate.

Adana Metropolitan Mayor Zeydan Karalar, CHP Deputy Chairman Burhanettin Bulut, and Party Assembly member Erhan Adem made a statement following the "bribery" and "rigging of bids" operations targeting the municipality. Speaking during the statement in front of the municipal building, Karalar said, "There is never anything illegal in our municipalities. Coming with armored police vehicles (TOMA) as if raiding a safe house was not appropriate."
Stating that "they have given the start signal for the AKP government's March 31 election campaign," Burhanettin Bulut announced that Karalar is once again the candidate for the Adana Metropolitan Municipality.
"WE HAVE NOTHING TO FEAR"
Speaking about the operation in which 10 people were detained, Karalar said:
"The state's police are our police; they are trying to fulfill the instructions they have received. We are also trying to perform this important duty properly by protecting the people's money. No one has the power to discredit our mayors. We are performing our duty with the awareness of being worthy of the public and worthy of Atatürk. There is never anything illegal in our municipalities. There is no harm to the public. We did not come here to make money for others. Whatever the police and the prosecutor's office have requested from us, we have provided in full, and we will continue to do so. We have nothing to fear, and we never will. I have been mayor for 10 years, and there has never been an incident involving me or my staff. Coming with a TOMA to search a female colleague's office as if raiding a safe house was not appropriate."
"THEY WILL GET THE ANSWER AT THE BALLOT BOX"
Bulut announced Karalar's mayoral candidacy with the following words:
"The government's 'throw mud, some will stick' attitude through the judiciary will not benefit anyone; the sun cannot be plastered with mud, and the stance of the people of Adana will not change. Let no one harbor empty dreams. Those who resort to this operation will receive the necessary answer at the ballot box. Mayor Zeydan will continue to serve Adana by winning the 2024 elections as well."
