Armed attack on Evrensel: Attacker arrested

İsa Can Biler, the perpetrator of the armed attack on the İzmir Bureau of the newspaper Evrensel on August 13, was referred to the courthouse following his processing at the police station. After being questioned by the prosecutor's office, Biler was brought before the court, arrested, and sent to prison.

DRIVER RELEASED

İbrahim Halil Yapıcı, who brought the attacker to the scene and drove him away after the attack, was also detained by the police. Yapıcı was released without judicial control measures after being held in custody for one day.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Biler had carried out an armed attack on the newspaper's İzmir bureau at around 01:30 on Wednesday, August 13.

In the attack, which was discovered in the morning hours, 7 bullet holes were found on the building's sign.
