The situation remains turbulent at the Can Media Group, which includes Habertürk TV. The group, to which the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF) recently appointed trustees, had previously made headlines following the arrest of Mehmet Akif Ersoy as part of a drug investigation.
Following these developments, the group's Ankara Representative, Fevzi Çakır, also announced that he has stepped down from his position.
Çakır announced his decision to resign through a written statement on social media. In his statement, noting that he did not request a new role following the management changes, Çakır said, "I have put up an intense and exhausting fight for approximately 1.5 years. At the point reached today, the facts have emerged clearly," he stated.
Emphasizing his journalism career, Çakır said, "Positions are temporary. I am a journalist. I did not exist through positions in this profession." He also stated that his resignation was entirely of his own volition and that he plans to rest for a while to open up new horizons.
