Journalist Ali Tarakçı was detained as part of an investigation launched following a post he made on his personal X account.
It was stated that the Press Crimes Investigation Bureau of the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office examined the statement Tarakçı shared on his social media account, which read, "A very important minister will resign on Friday."
Following the post, an investigation was opened against Tarakçı on charges of "Publicly Spreading Misleading Information," as defined in the Turkish Penal Code.
In accordance with the investigation order, the detention decision was executed by law enforcement, and a search was conducted at Tarakçı's address. The journalist's digital devices were also seized for forensic examination.
It was reported that judicial proceedings regarding the course of the investigation are continuing following the digital examination process.
