Journalist Uğur Dündar has issued a statement after being summoned to testify regarding a social media post linked to a report alleging that "extras" were brought to a CHP badge-pinning event.
Dündar stated that the investigation was launched following a criminal complaint by Gürsel Tekin, who was appointed as a trustee to the CHP İstanbul Provincial Presidency, and expressed his reaction to Tekin.
In a post on his social media account, Dündar said, "In my nearly 60-year journalism career, I have seen this too! Because of my X post—which covered the 'CHP meeting with extras' story, the accuracy of which has been proven by documents and confessions, and in which I included the statements of Trustee Gürsel Tekin and the casting agency without comment—the Trustee has filed a criminal complaint against me."
Dündar described the situation as "an exemplary and tragicomic incident that will go down in the history of politics and the press."
