The 2026 promotion decisions for the Turkish Armed Forces have been published in the Official Gazette. Within the scope of the decision bearing the signature of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the promotion lists for generals, admirals, and colonels serving in the Land, Naval, and Air Force Commands were announced.
According to the decision published in the Official Gazette dated August 5, 2026, the promotions will take effect from August 30, 2026. The lists include the names of those promoted to the ranks of general, lieutenant general, major general, rear admiral, and brigadier general.
Under the decision, it was decided to promote a large number of generals and colonels in the Land Forces Command to the next rank. Promotion arrangements regarding admirals, generals, and colonels were also made in the Naval and Air Force Commands.
