5 directors who resigned from the Ministry of National Education become mayoral candidates

District directors of national education have resigned from their positions to apply for mayoral candidacy in the elections to be held on March 31.

In the March 31, 2024 local elections, surprise names have resigned to become mayoral candidates. District directors from Orhangazi, Taşova, Kadışehri, and Ayvacık, who were serving in the Ministry of National Education, have left their posts by submitting their candidacy applications.

5 District Directors of National Education have resigned from their positions to be able to run as candidates in the local elections.

5 DISTRICT DIRECTORS RESIGN AND BECOME CANDIDATES

The District Directors of National Education who resigned are as follows:

- Samsun Ayvacık District Director of National Education İsmail YİĞİT will be a mayoral candidate nominee from the AK Party in the March 31 Local Administration Elections.

- Amasya Taşova District Director of National Education Mustafa Tümer has resigned and become a mayoral candidate nominee for Taşova from the AK Party.

- Necmettin Şahin, who served for many years as a teacher in Bursa Orhangazi, as an administrator and director at Eyüp Topçu Anatolian High School, and for a period as the District Director of National Education, has become a mayoral candidate nominee for Orhangazi from the AK Party.

- İlyas Küçükmustafa, a retired facility manager from the Rize Provincial Directorate of National Education, has applied for the mayoral candidacy of the Muradiye township.

- Yozgat Kadışehri District Director of National Education Nuri Aksoy has left his post for mayoral candidacy from the AK Party.

Following the resignations, acting district directors of national education have been appointed to their places, and new district directors of national education will be appointed to replace them.

WHEN ARE THE LOCAL ELECTIONS?

The 2024 Turkish local elections are the local elections to be held on March 31, 2024, to determine the local administrations in Turkey. As a result of the elections, mayors, metropolitan mayors, municipal council members, provincial general assembly members, village heads (muhtars), and councils of elders will be determined.
