7,566 items left on IETT vehicles to be sold at auction in Karaköy

An auction will be held for items left on buses, metrobus lines, nostalgic trams, tunnels, and at stops within the IETT network in Istanbul. A total of 7,566 items that could not be returned to their owners and have exceeded their legal storage period will be put up for sale on Tuesday, June 16, at the Karaköy Station Building.

The tender will take place between 09:30 and 11:30. The items, which were recorded and stored under the IETT Lost Property Directive, will be evaluated under the supervision of the tender commission once the processes are completed.

Some items deemed suitable for social assistance have been excluded from the sale. Unused clothing, bags, books, and stationery items that have exceeded their storage period have been transferred to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality to be delivered to those in need.

Electronic and electrical goods that have completed their technical inspection and evaluation processes are expected to be offered for sale at the auction. To ensure the process moves quickly, the items will primarily be sold in bulk.

In the event that a bulk sale does not occur, the products may be divided into specific groups and sold in smaller lots.

IETT announced that citizens who lose their belongings on public transport lines can apply to the operations directorate of the relevant line on the same day or obtain information via the ALO 153 White Desk line.
