Decision published in the Official Gazette: First 'pomegranate molasses', now 'lemon juice'

According to the decision published in the Official Gazette, the sale of products that give the impression of lemon juice, such as lemon-flavored sauce, lemon sauce, sauce with lemon, and similar names, has been banned. The same decision was previously taken for products that give the impression of pomegranate molasses.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has introduced an amendment to the Turkish Food Codex Regulation, prohibiting the domestic marketing of products that give the impression of lemon juice, such as lemon-flavored sauce, lemon sauce, sauce with lemon, and similar names.

According to the decision in the Official Gazette, products that give the impression of lemon juice, such as lemon-flavored sauce, lemon sauce, sauce with lemon, and similar products, will not be allowed to be sold domestically.

In this context, products that are not permitted to be placed on the domestic market will not be allowed to be kept on the market after December 31, 2024.

The same decision had previously been issued for products that give the impression of pomegranate molasses.
