Event ban to be implemented in Istanbul on September 5

The Istanbul Governor's Office determined that there were intense calls on social media to protest the Enrico Macias concert scheduled to be held at the Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theater on Friday, September 5.

For this reason, all events such as concerts, demonstrations, marches, press statements, and sit-ins in and around the Open-Air Theater have been banned.

In the statement made by the Governor's Office, it was stated that the protests could legally put young people in a difficult position and cause grievances.

The statement is as follows: "It has been determined that intense calls have been made on various social media platforms to protest the Enrico Macias concert event planned to take place at the Şişli District Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theater on 05.09.2025.

It is assessed that demonstrations to be held to protest the genocide that the terrorist state of Israel continues to carry out basely in Gaza and the supporters of the genocide will put our young people who will protest in an unfair position on legal grounds and cause grievances.

For this reason; all concerts, demonstrations, marches, press statements, sit-ins, etc. planned to be held in and around the Şişli Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theater have been banned between 00:01 and 23:59 on 05.09.2025."
