Fahrettin Koca announces: 9 thousand health personnel to be hired

Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca announced that the law providing for regulations in the health sector has been published in the Official Gazette and has entered into force. According to the decision, 9 thousand new contract-based health personnel will be hired.

The law providing for regulations in the health sector has been published in the Official Gazette.

With the law, the number of contract-based personnel in areas where there is difficulty in recruiting staff in the health sector has been increased from 27 thousand to 36 thousand. Thus, the way has been paved for the recruitment of 9 thousand new contract-based health personnel.

Changes have also been made to the job description of midwives. Accordingly, midwives will be able to take an active role in births. They will be able to perform minor medical interventions.

Newly graduated dentists will be able to take an active role in independent practices. The law will also facilitate the drug licensing process to support the domestic pharmaceutical industry. The two-month waiting period will be removed, and license fees will be determined according to new criteria.
