Governor's Office announces: 'Disaster zone' decision in Batman

The Batman Governor's Office has announced that 11 neighborhoods where a flood disaster occurred due to rainfall have been declared a 'disaster zone affecting general life'.

The statement from the Governor's Office included the following:

“As a result of the heavy rainfall in our province on November 19, 2023, the flood disaster that occurred in the Bayındır, Cudi, Çamlıca, Gap, Gültepe, Huzur, Hürriyet, İluh, Karşıyaka, Petrol, and Seyitler neighborhoods of the Batman Central District has been deemed a ‘disaster zone affecting general life’ with the approval of the Ministry of Interior Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency dated 30.11.2023 and numbered 76721, in accordance with paragraph (a) of Article 5 of the ‘Regulation on the Principles Regarding the Impact of Disasters on General Life’ prepared pursuant to Article 1 of Law No. 7269; and owners of residences and workplaces that are determined to have been affected by the same disaster events as a result of the examinations to be conducted have also been accepted as disaster victims.”
