Following the ban on cash payments, an important step has been taken to prevent tax losses and evasion in rentals.

Rental agreements can now be made via e-Devlet. Preparations for this innovation have been completed, and the new service that allows rental agreements to be created via e-Devlet has been launched as of today.

Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek provided information on the subject via his social media account.

So, how is a rental agreement created via e-Devlet and how does the system work? Here are the details...

HOW TO CREATE A RENTAL AGREEMENT VIA E-DEVLET?

Starting today, all citizens aged 18 and over will be able to use the new service.

The system operates under the heading "Rental Agreement Transactions." Real persons who own the property fill out the agreement in this section. Then, the tenant logs in via e-Devlet and approves the agreement, thus completing the rental agreement.

For properties with multiple owners, the system is limited to a maximum of 10 co-owners. Rental agreements for properties with 10 or fewer co-owners can be made through this system.

STEPS TO CREATE A RENTAL AGREEMENT VIA E-DEVLET

Log in via e-Devlet: First, you need to log in to the e-Devlet portal. You can log in to the system with your Turkish ID number and e-Devlet password.

Rental agreement transactions: After logging in, you will be directed to the "Rental Agreement Transactions" heading. Here, real persons who own the property will be able to create the rental agreement, and the tenant will be able to approve it by logging in via e-Devlet.

Agreement approval: After the property owner fills out the agreement, the tenant logs into the system via e-Devlet and approves the agreement to complete the process.

CAN THIRD PARTIES CREATE RENTAL AGREEMENTS?

Currently, real estate consultants and authorized persons cannot create rental agreements through the system. This feature is planned to be implemented at the beginning of the year.

Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek, in his statement on his social media account regarding the new service, said, "Rental agreements can now be prepared quickly, easily, and reliably via e-Devlet. Best wishes to our nation!"

SECOND PHASE AT THE END OF THE YEAR

The second phase of the service will be made available at the end of the year. As part of the continuation of the regulation, real estate consultants and authorized persons will be included in the process with the role of preparing agreements and submitting them for the approval of the parties (property owner and tenant).
