IMM announces: Which public transport vehicles will be free on New Year's Day?
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) has announced that its public transport vehicles will be free of charge for holders of personalized Istanbulkarts on January 1st as part of New Year's celebrations.

According to the statement made by the IMM, certain measures have been taken regarding transportation, security, and potential emergencies to ensure that Istanbul residents have a comfortable and safe experience on New Year's Eve and the first day of the new year.
IETT will organize 304 additional services on 25 lines on the night of December 31st, while 221 additional services have been planned for the Metrobus.
METRO LINES WILL OPERATE 24 HOURS
It is planned that the majority of metro lines will provide 24-hour service, while tram and funicular lines will operate until 02:00 on January 1st.
City Lines (Şehir Hatları) are also expected to organize additional services depending on passenger density.
As part of the public holiday, public transport vehicles will provide free service to holders of personalized Istanbulkarts on January 1st.
INSPECTIONS WILL BE TIGHTENED
IMM Police Teams will tighten their inspections in squares, main arteries, and coastal areas.
Interventions will be made against negative situations such as consumer rights violations, begging, and unauthorized advertisements or posters. The city will be monitored via camera systems, and teams will be directed as necessary.
Public transport vehicles, taxis, and bus terminals will also be subject to inspections.
Strict inspections will be carried out, particularly at the Bayrampaşa and Ataşehir Fruit and Vegetable Markets and the Gürpınar Seafood Market.
Additionally, road maintenance and infrastructure coordination teams will be on duty to respond to adverse weather conditions. Accommodation facilities will be provided for citizens left on the streets.
Fire and health teams will be on full alert for potential emergencies.
İSKİ teams will be on standby to intervene immediately in case of water and sewage malfunctions. Waste Management teams working for the city's cleanliness will also work on a shift basis.
For any potential emergencies, the IMM's "ALO 153 Solution Center" can be called throughout New Year's Eve.
