The Federation of Internship and Apprenticeship Insurance Victims held a joint press conference in 14 provinces on November 5.

Drawing attention to the social security losses caused by Law No. 3308, which came into effect in 1986, the group stated that they have suffered a loss of rights.

The federation pointed out that the "short-term-long-term" insurance distinction, which does not exist globally, is present in Turkey, and stated that the insurance process should begin upon the start of actual work.

The victims stated that despite their work, they have suffered a loss of rights due to the insurance start date being shown misleadingly in the E-Devlet and SGK systems.

DEMAND FOR RIGHTS IN THE 100TH YEAR

The group also expressed that while those who intern under the same conditions abroad can come to Turkey and claim their rights, local regulations treat them unfairly. Stating that there is also an injustice regarding maternity leave borrowing, the federation drew attention to the fact that internship/apprenticeship entries should be accepted as the start of employment for maternity leave borrowing purposes.

The federation stated that they are conducting field work, political meetings, and social media campaigns to resolve the grievance.

Federation members demanded that this injustice be ended in the 100th year of the Republic and that the initial employment entry date on the SSK cards they obtained be accepted as the start of their insurance.
