Minister of Interior Mustafa Çiftçi announced a new regulation for those whose ties to police training institutions were severed due to health reasons. According to the statement, individuals who meet certain conditions will be brought back into the public sector.

NEW RIGHT FOR THOSE WHO LEFT DUE TO HEALTH REASONS

According to the news on Memurlar.net, Çiftçi stated that a new step has been taken regarding those whose ties were severed due to health conditions during the police training process.

Responding to a question, Çiftçi said, “Yes, we are taking an important step in this regard as well. We are providing a new opportunity to our citizens who were dismissed from police training institutions due to health conditions, later returned and graduated through court decisions, but were subsequently removed from civil service: If they apply and meet the necessary requirements, these individuals can be appointed to suitable positions in the General Administrative Services Class. With this regulation, we aim to resolve the grievances experienced in the past.”

CHANGES TO RANK AND STAFF STRUCTURE

Çiftçi stated that a regulation will also be made in the rank and staff system of the Police Department.

“We are making an important regulation in the rank and staff structure of our police organization. While increasing the ratios of police chief and police superintendent positions, we are also making a balanced restructuring in the commissioner and assistant commissioner positions. In this way, we will ensure that more experienced ranked personnel serve in police schools. At the same time, we will reduce the bottlenecks in the promotion system and create a wider pool of personnel for transition to higher ranks.”

ENTRY CRITERIA FOR TRAINING ARE BEING RE-REGULATED

Stating that the conditions for admission to police training will be made clearer, Çiftçi said that a new framework has been created in line with the decisions of the Constitutional Court.

“In line with the decisions of the Constitutional Court, we are making the entry requirements for police training clearer and more transparent. We are now writing all the criteria sought for student recruitment to the Faculty of Internal Security directly into the text of the law. All conditions such as age, health, security investigation, criminal record, YKS score, physical proficiency, and interview will be clearly defined. We are also clarifying the conditions for transition from police vocational schools to faculties.”
