With a regulation published in the Official Gazette, certain public officials have been granted the ability to travel free of charge on urban public transport for two years.
Within the scope of the implementation, customs enforcement officers of the Ministry of Trade and forest protection officers affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry will not pay fares on public transport vehicles belonging to municipalities across the country.
WHO WILL BENEFIT?
Under the new implementation, only customs and forest protection officers working within the Ministry of Trade and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry will have the right to free public transport. This right has been defined to be valid until December 31, 2027.
WHICH VEHICLES DOES FREE TRANSPORT COVER?
With the decision, the relevant public personnel will be able to use urban public transport vehicles such as municipal buses, subways, and trams without paying any fees. This opportunity will be valid on all subway and tram lines, primarily municipal buses.
The implementation aims to both provide support to public officials and alleviate their workload in urban transport. Thus, it is intended to ensure both the continuity of public services and an increase in personnel motivation.
