Published in the Official Gazette: Decision from Erdoğan concerning the Police Department

A new regulation regarding the staffing structure of the General Directorate of Security has been published in the Official Gazette with the signature of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. With the decision, a total of 6,250 new positions have been created, with 1,550 for the central organization and 4,700 for the provincial organization of the General Directorate of Security. The regulation includes positions for chief inspectors, central police chiefs, police commissioners, and computer operators.

Changes have been made to the staffing structure of the General Directorate of Security. Within the scope of the Presidential Decree published in the Official Gazette, a total of 6,250 new positions have been created for the central and provincial organizations.

1,550 NEW POSITIONS FOR THE CENTRAL ORGANIZATION

With the regulation, a total of 1,550 positions were created in the central organization of the General Directorate of Security.

In this context, 925 first-degree chief inspector positions were created, while 200 first-degree central police chief positions were also opened. Additionally, 425 police commissioner positions with grades ranging from 2 to 5 were established.

The total number of new positions for the central organization thus reached 1,550.

4,700 POSITIONS CREATED IN THE PROVINCIAL ORGANIZATION

The majority of the new staffing regulation was allocated to the provincial organization of the General Directorate of Security.

While 500 computer operator positions were created for the provincial organization, 4,200 police commissioner positions with grades ranging from 2 to 5 were established.

The total number of new positions in the provincial organization reached 4,700.

DISTRIBUTION OF 6,250 POSITIONS ANNOUNCED

With the Presidential Decree, 5,750 of the 6,250 positions created within the General Directorate of Security consist of chief inspector, central police chief, and police commissioner positions.

The remaining 500 positions were allocated to computer operator positions in the provincial organization.

Thus, a new staffing arrangement has been made for chief inspector, central police chief, and police commissioner positions in the central organization, and primarily for police commissioner positions in the provincial organization.
