Regulation decision regarding general aviation published in the Official Gazette

The "Regulation on Security Measures Regarding General Aviation Air Transport," jointly executed by the Minister of Interior, the Minister of Trade, and the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, has been published in the Official Gazette.

The Official Gazette for Tuesday, December 19, 2023, has been published. Among the regulations, a provision regarding Aviation Transport was included.

ARTICLES ANNOUNCED

The following clause has been added to the 1st paragraph of Article 4 of the regulation:

A general aviation terminal is a type of terminal used for services such as private aircraft, business jets, air taxis, and ambulances. These terminals must have obtained a Group C airport terminal operating license. This license is issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and ensures that the terminal meets security, comfort, quality, and environmental standards.

Additionally, the following were added as supplementary articles:

  • Those who wish to conduct commercial passenger and passenger-accompanied cargo transport at general aviation terminals must fulfill the necessary conditions and measures in accordance with the National Civil Aviation Security Program and relevant legislation.
  • For this purpose, the airport and/or terminal operator shall apply to the airport civil administrative authority. Applications evaluated and approved by the airport security commission are forwarded to the Ministry of Interior through the airport civil administrative authority.
  • In order to conduct commercial passenger and passenger-accompanied cargo transport at general aviation terminals, the opinions of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, the Ministry of Trade, and other relevant public institutions and organizations are sought. In line with these opinions, the Ministry of Interior grants or denies permission.
