Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş answered journalists' questions regarding the birth grant at Parliament, where she arrived as part of the 'Minister on Duty' practice. Minister Göktaş stated that they will begin making support payments to mothers' accounts immediately following the evaluation process for applications made under the birth grant program, which was implemented during the Year of the Family. 2025 was declared the "Year of the Family" with the approval of President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Explaining that they have begun accepting applications for the birth grant implemented within this scope via e-Government, Göktaş said, 'We are talking about a monthly or one-time support program for every child born as of January 1, 2025. If a family's first baby is born in 2025, we will provide a one-time support of 5,000 TL. If a second baby is born this year, we will provide 1,500 TL of support to the mother's account every month. For the 3rd child and every child thereafter, we will provide 5,000 TL of support.'
Minister Göktaş stated, 'Our citizens who have difficulty applying via e-Government can receive support from our Alo 144 call center and our provincial directorates.'
Expressing that every Turkish citizen can benefit from this aid without any criteria, Göktaş said, 'There is a very high demand from families. In the coming period, we will continue to share our other good news within the scope of the 'Year of the Family' with the public. Immediately after the evaluation process, we will begin making support payments to our mothers' accounts.'
