Journalist Cem Küçük stated during a live broadcast that the number of civil servants in Turkey is too high. Küçük said, "I agree with the view that 5.5 million civil servants is too many. The number of civil servants should be around 2.5–3 million."
Stating that he partially agrees with the words of prominent businessman Rahmi Koç, who said, "This state can run with 2 million employees," Küçük said, "How many people go to get a passport in Bayburt, Giresun, or Erzurum? The police, civil servants, tax offices, and ministries there could be reduced."
REDUCING THE NUMBER OF CIVIL SERVANTS WOULD BENEFIT THE STATE
Cem Küçük said that if the number of civil servants were reduced to around 2.5–3 million, the state would gain nearly 1 trillion liras per month.
