While Apple has reached a size that surpasses many countries worldwide with the massive amount of cash in its reserves and its economic power, it shared the company's performance with the entire world during its quarterly financial evaluation meeting. As it does every year, Apple stepped into 2025 with record revenue growth, yet it still managed to create question marks in the minds of investors with the decline in iPhone sales. Here are the important developments from this quarter!

APPLE IS EXPERIENCING THE MOST PROFITABLE DAYS IN ITS HISTORY

Apple reached the highest profit level in its history over the last three months. CEO Tim Cook emphasized that the company experienced its "most successful quarter to date" with 124.3 billion dollars in revenue. Apple's performance for the last quarter was as follows:

Total revenue increased by 4 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 124.3 billion dollars.

Net profit increased by 7.1 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 36.33 billion dollars.

Earnings per share exceeded expectations, coming in at 2.42 dollars.

Meta's total profit for 2024 was determined to be 62.4 billion dollars. This is equivalent to the amount of profit Apple earned in just three months. However, despite these large figures, it is difficult to say that everything is as bright as it seems. Apple generated 124.3 billion dollars in revenue during this period, and 69.14 billion dollars of that came from iPhone sales. However, analysts were expecting 71.03 billion dollars in revenue from iPhone sales.

If we evaluate the difference between 69.14 billion dollars and 71.03 billion dollars, the gap seems quite close. However, it should not be forgotten that these are billions of dollars and this difference is of a magnitude comparable to the values of large companies in Turkey. This revenue decline represents the largest drop in iPhone sales since the first quarter of 2023.

The most important reason for this decline stands out as Apple's lack of innovation. Since users are satisfied with the performance of older models like the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14, they have not been able to see the major innovations they expected in new models like the iPhone 16. Tim Cook attributed this decline to the fact that Apple Intelligence technology has not yet reached all regions. He emphasized that iPhone sales were better in regions where Apple Intelligence is available. Unfortunately, Turkey is among the regions where these AI-enabled iPhones have not been made available.

Apple experienced a significant decline in the Chinese market last year. The company's revenue in this market decreased by 11 percent, falling to 18.51 billion dollars. This performance, which remained well below the analysts' expectation of 21.57 billion dollars, shows that users are turning to competitors that move faster in terms of innovation.

Services, another important source of revenue for Apple, increased by 14 percent to 26.34 billion dollars during this period. Mac sales performed better than expected at 8.99 billion dollars. On the other hand, sales of products such as the Apple Watch and AirPods remained at 11.75 billion dollars, falling short of expectations.
