Apple launches Tap to Pay on iPhone in 8 new Latin American countries
Apple's contactless payment solution has expanded to eight more countries in Latin America. Turkey was not included in the newly announced list.

Apple has expanded the reach of its Tap to Pay on iPhone feature. According to the company's announcement, the service has been launched in Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama, and Peru in Latin America.
With this new expansion, businesses in these countries will be able to accept contactless payments via iPhone without the need for an additional POS device. Turkey, however, was not included in the latest list of countries announced by Apple.
Tap to Pay on iPhone allows merchants to accept payments from customers through a compatible app. Customers can complete the payment by holding their iPhone, Apple Watch, or contactless credit card near the merchant's iPhone.
TURKEY IS NOT ON THE LIST
The system works with NFC technology, which stands for Near Field Communication. Apple states that transaction data is encrypted during the payment process and that security measures are implemented to protect privacy.
The widespread adoption of the feature is seen as an option that could reduce hardware costs, especially for small and medium-sized businesses. The solution, which can be used at mobile points of sale as well as in physical stores, is considered part of Apple's strategy to bring its payment technologies to more markets.
