Apple to discontinue iPhone mini series

iPhone 13 mini stocks are dwindling, and Apple's online store in the US is showing shipping estimates of 2-3 weeks for some models and 6-8 weeks for others.
This scarcity suggests that production of the iPhone 13 mini may be discontinued after Apple announces its new iPhones at the 'Wonderlust' event on Tuesday, September 12.
Apple did not release an iPhone 14 mini last year, but kept the iPhone 13 mini available in the US as a lower-cost option starting at $599.
According to a report by Bloomberg, it seems likely that Apple will discontinue the production and sale of mini devices after introducing the iPhone 15 series on Tuesday.
Apple's new series will likely consist of the 6.1-inch iPhone 15, 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Plus, 6.1-inch iPhone 15 Pro, and 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Pro Max.
IPHONE MINI SALES ARE LOW
Although there initially appeared to be pent-up demand for a smaller iPhone, actual data showed that the iPhone mini had lower sales compared to other iPhone models.
In April 2022, research firm CIRP stated that the iPhone 13 mini accounted for only 3% of total iPhone 13 sales in the US in the first quarter of that year.
IPHONE SE SIZE MAY BE UPDATED
Looking ahead, customers who want a small iPhone from Apple will have to settle for the entry-level iPhone SE, but it is rumored that even this device will be updated with a larger 6.1-inch screen within the next year or two.
At least for now, it seems Apple has realized that small phones are not that popular.
