Apple to end update support for iPhone 11 series
With the iOS 27 update, Apple is preparing to bid farewell to software support for four popular devices, including the iPhone 11 and SE (2020) models. A new roadmap is taking shape for these devices, which have been kept up-to-date for approximately 7 years.

Ahead of the iOS 27 update, which is closely followed by the tech world, it has begun to become clear which iPhone models will no longer be supported. The new version, expected to be introduced in June, will confront Apple users with a significant decision.
Many iPhone models released around 2019 and 2020 will be officially "retired" with iOS 27. The iPhone 11 series and the 2nd generation iPhone SE stand out on the list.
FAREWELL TO FOUR POPULAR MODELS
According to assessments, the devices that will not receive the iOS 27 update are as follows:
- iPhone SE (2nd generation): Introduced in 2020 as a powerful, affordable option. The device was kept up-to-date for years with its A13 Bionic processor, but it has reached its hardware limits. With its limited RAM and older chassis design, it cannot support all the features of modern iOS.
- iPhone 11: Released in 2019, this model was among the brand's best-sellers and received software updates for approximately 7 years. Due to limitations in its hardware, it will not be included in future updates.
- iPhone 11 Pro & 11 Pro Max: Both models targeted high-end users in 2019 and stood out with their performance. However, the advanced artificial intelligence and system features brought by the new generation of iOS will not find full support on these devices. Therefore, Apple is ending the support process.
HARDWARE AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE LIMITATIONS STAND OUT
It is stated that the reason behind this critical decision lies in the increasing artificial intelligence integrations and advanced software functions in the iOS operating system in recent years. These new features mean high performance requirements for older hardware. Apple is cutting support for certain models to ensure that the user experience is not negatively affected.
In the past, update support for older iPhone models ended much earlier. The iPhone 11 series and iPhone SE (2020) have taken their place among the devices for which Apple has provided update support for the longest time.
With iOS 27, Apple will officially retire some of these legendary models in terms of software and accelerate the renewal process.
