Apple's new CEO has been announced

Apple has announced that John Ternus will be appointed to the position of CEO. Ternus is noted as a figure who has played a significant role in the company's global success.

It has been announced that John Ternus, one of Apple's senior executives, will take over the CEO seat starting September 1. Following this transition, current CEO Tim Cook will serve as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Apple later in the year. The strategic path initiated by Tim Cook during a period when the company reached record profits appears set to continue under Ternus's leadership.

Tim Cook will continue his CEO responsibilities throughout the summer and lead the transition process. Cook described his successor as having 'the intelligence of an engineer, the spirit of an inventor, and a heart to lead with integrity.'

With Apple's annual net profit now exceeding 100 billion dollars, the selection of Ternus is considered an important step in maintaining the company's profitable structure and innovative vision.

Ternus began his journey at Apple in 2001. He became vice president of hardware engineering in 2013 and took charge of this department in 2021. The success of the Apple Silicon chips, which were developed for Mac computers and replaced Intel processors in 2020, stands out as one of the most important steps taken under Ternus's leadership. He also played key roles in the development processes of innovative products such as the Apple Watch, AirPods, and Vision Pro.

Before his role at Apple, it is known that Ternus graduated from the University of Pennsylvania's Department of Mechanical Engineering and competed on the school's swimming team during his student years. After a brief work experience in the field of virtual reality, he had a long-standing career at Apple.
