The best-selling brand in global smartphone sales has been announced! Apple or Samsung?

In a statement from the International Data Corporation (IDC), it was noted that while challenges persist in the global smartphone market, momentum is shifting toward a recovery.

The statement recorded that global smartphone sales fell by 3.2 percent year-on-year in 2023 to 1.17 billion units, emphasizing that this represents the lowest sales volume in the last 10 years.

APPLE SURPASSED SAMSUNG AFTER 13 YEARS

The statement recalled that 2010 was the last year a company other than Samsung held the top spot in the smartphone market, and reported that Apple took first place last year with a 20.1 percent market share.

According to IDC data, Samsung ranked second last year with a 19.4 percent market share, while Xiaomi's market share was 12.5 percent and Oppo's was 8.8 percent.

Compared to the previous year, Apple's smartphone sales volume increased by 3.7 percent in 2023, while Samsung's decreased by 13.6 percent, Xiaomi's by 4.7 percent, and Oppo's by 9.9 percent.
