China launches "SuperView" class optical Earth observation satellites
China has sent a new pair of "SuperView" (Gaocing) class Earth observation satellites into space.

According to a report by the Chinese news agency Xinhua, the "SuperView 1-03" and "SuperView 1-04" satellites were launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the country's northwest using a Long March 2C rocket.
CHINA'S SATELLITE CONSTELLATION IS EXPANDING
The satellites reached their planned orbital positions following the launch. The mission marked the 561st successful transport flight carried out by Long March rockets.
The SuperView class satellites, which provide high-resolution optical satellite imagery services for public and commercial use, are developed by the Siwei Surveying and Mapping Technology Company, a subsidiary of the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC).
The first group of SuperView satellites was launched in two pairs in 2016 and 2018, while the first pair of the second group was launched in 2022 and the second pair in October 2024. The first pair of the third group of satellites was also sent into space in April 2024.
It is planned to create a satellite constellation consisting of 28 satellites in Sun-Synchronous Orbit using the SuperView satellites.
