Cyberattack shock at TurkNet: Customer information compromised!

It was alleged this morning that a cyberattack was carried out against TurkNet, one of Turkey's leading internet service providers. Posts were made on social media claiming that user data had been stolen, and some individuals identifying themselves as hackers demanded a ransom from the company.
TURKNET CONFIRMS THE ATTACK
TurkNet announced that unauthorized access to its systems occurred on March 11, 2025. In the statement made, it was noted that despite all security measures taken, some customer information was compromised.
While it was explained that information such as first name, last name, phone number, Turkish ID number, and static IP was leaked, it was emphasized that “Financial information and user passwords are safe.”
The company reported that there was no disruption to its services following the attack and that they have increased their security measures. It was stated that the legal process has been initiated in cooperation with official institutions and that users can safely use the Online Transaction Center and mobile application with their current passwords. It was noted that developments regarding the process will continue to be shared.

As TurkNet, since the day we were founded, we have viewed trust, transparency, accountability, and corporate governance as our most important priority. We present this statement to the attention of the public as a requirement of our responsibility within the framework of these principles.
Recently, cyberattacks, the examples of which are increasing day by day in the world and in Turkey, have been targeting the technological infrastructure of many companies on a global scale, and a similar cyberattack against TurkNet was detected on March 11, 2025.
As TurkNet, despite the measures taken within the scope of the Personal Data Protection Law (“KVKK”), a cyberattack occurred on our institution's database. In the meantime, the level of necessary technical and administrative measures has been increased, and security has been ensured.
There has been no interruption and/or problem in our service following the incident.
Our database, which is the subject of the breach, contains the first name, last name, phone number, subscription number, Turkish ID number, identity information, TurkNet subscription circuit information, address, and static IP information of some of our customers.
The attack does not cover our customers' financial information and TurkNet user passwords, and this information is secure end-to-end.
Our efforts to identify those responsible for all these attempts and to initiate the necessary legal processes will be carried out in coordination with the relevant public institutions, and the necessary breach notifications will be made to the Personal Data Protection Authority and the Information and Communication Technologies Authority.
As of now, all additional measures have been meticulously implemented, and you can safely use our Online Transaction Center and mobile application with your current password. We will continue to inform you about the process regarding possible developments.
