The European Union (EU) has launched an investigation into Meta, Apple, and Google under the framework of the "Digital Markets Act." It is stated that the companies could face fines of up to 10 percent of their global revenue.

The European Union (EU) has launched an investigation into major technology companies, also known as "Big Tech," under the "Digital Markets Act" which came into effect earlier this month.
According to a report in BirGün, the EU Commission announced that as part of the investigation, it will examine Apple and Google's App Store rules, as well as Google's practice of unfairly steering search results toward its own services. It was also stated that Meta's new subscription fees on its Instagram and Facebook platforms would be investigated.
FINES REACHING 10 PERCENT
It is stated that the fines to be imposed on the companies could reach up to 10 percent of their global revenue.
CONCERNED STATEMENT FROM THE EU COMMISSION
EU Commission Executive Vice-President Margrethe Vestager stated that they have launched the first investigation under the new law, adding, "We are concerned that Alphabet, Apple, and Meta are not fulfilling their obligations."
