Skype, which offered voice and video communication, has been discontinued after more than 20 years of service. Microsoft had announced that it would terminate the services of the application, which was launched in 2003 and reached over 300 million active users in 2010, "in order to organize it in a way that better adapts to the needs of customers."

Stating that they will focus on the Microsoft Teams application, the company had reported that user data in Skype would be automatically transferred to this application.
