Files backed up on Google Drive are disappearing!

It has been reported that backups made on Google Drive, used by millions of people, are vanishing. The loss occurring in the desktop version of Drive currently appears to have no solution. The company is continuing its efforts regarding the issue reported to Google.

BACKUP ISSUE ON GOOGLE DRIVE

Some users have noticed that they cannot access the Drive files they backed up on their desktop devices. By sharing this on social media and official channels, users have brought the situation to Google's attention.

As reported, files uploaded or data backed up since May of this year have suddenly disappeared. According to Google, this 'data loss' is a synchronization issue. There is a synchronization error in versions 84.0.0.0 and 84.0.4.0 of Drive.

Google is working on the matter and is expected to restore the lost data to users.
