First samples from Honor Magic 9's 200 MP telephoto camera shared

Honor has released the first samples regarding the camera performance of the Magic 9 series ahead of the launch event it will hold in China on September 28. The images shared by the company offer clues as to how the 200 MP periscope telephoto camera in the series will perform, particularly in portrait and long-distance shots.

It is stated that the shared samples were taken at an 80 mm focal length. Honor's new telephoto system highlights a 1/1.56-inch 200 MP sensor and 3.5x optical zoom support. This setup is expected to be one of the series' most ambitious features in terms of scene depth and detail capture.

HIGHLIGHTS IN CAMERA AND HARDWARE

The only innovation on the camera side in the series is not limited to the telephoto lens. Unlike the 50 MP main camera used in previous Magic models, it is reported that a 1/1.4-inch 200 MP main sensor will be included in the new series. Honor also positions the ARRI Look Cinematic Video filters, developed in collaboration with ARRI, among the standout features of the Magic 9 family.

The Magic 9 family is expected to come in three different models: the standard Magic 9, Super Edition, and Pro Max. It is stated that the models will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite series processor architecture, while the Pro Max model will feature a 6.8-inch Black Diamond LTPO OLED screen and an 8800 mAh battery.

For the standard model, information regarding an 8000 mAh battery, 80W wired and 50W wireless charging support stands out. The series is also expected to offer IP68/69/69K durability certifications, AI and shutter buttons placed on the side frame, 12 GB and 16 GB RAM options, and up to 1 TB of storage space.
