Google has announced that Google Pay, which it launched in 2018, will no longer be in use. For users in the US, the Google Pay service will end as of June 4, 2024. Users will be able to continue using the features they had with Google Pay through Google Wallet.

Google explained this decision by citing the desire to increase the usage of Google Wallet and consolidate all services into a single platform. Google stated that Google Wallet is used five times more than Google Pay. Since Google Wallet includes many features such as driver's licenses, IDs, and payment options, it will be merged with Google Pay to improve the user experience.

In fact, Google Pay was originally launched years ago to combine the Android Pay and Google Wallet apps. However, despite the disappearance of Android Pay, this merger had not been fully realized.
