Google fined 4 million rubles in Russia

A court in Russia's capital, Moscow, has fined Google 4 million rubles (approximately 44 thousand dollars) on the grounds that it did not block access to certain content on YouTube.

The court concluded that Google failed to comply with the law by not blocking access to prohibited content on YouTube. Consequently, it was ordered that Google pay a fine of 4 million rubles.

Google has previously been fined in Russia for similar reasons.

The company's subsidiary in Russia initiated bankruptcy proceedings in 2022 as it was unable to meet its financial obligations.
